New Sustainable and Affordable Homes and Commercial Tenants Ignite Change in San Francisco's Bayview


San Francisco, CA - Tuesday, April 15th, San Francisco Housing Development Corporation's  (SFHDC) Green Blended

Communities LLC was awarded a  $8.46 million loan by the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency  Commission to fund

$11.5 million mixed-use affordable for-sale condo development in the Bayview.     This Bayview Hunters Point

development will consist of 18 affordable condo homes above 2,100 square feet of commercial space at the corner of

Third Street and Oakdale Avenue and across the street from the newly-restored historic Bayview Opera House.   Magic

Johnson Starbucks and  Marcus Books, the oldest independent black-owned bookstore in the nation, will be tenants

leasing the commercial spaces, and helping to ignite the transformation of this emerging San Francisco neighborhood

and commercial corridor.

Conveniently located just steps from a MUNI-rail stop at Third Street and Oakdale Avenue, SFHDC's condominium units

will introduce to the community 1 & 2 bedroom condos averaging between 630 to 1,000 square feet, and ranging in

price from $141,000 to $225,000.   The amenities of each home includes: 1) green-building features 2) open space

with green courtyard area, 3) modern features and products built in quality building and, 5) reserved covered

parking.

Sustainability is a top priority for SFHDC; important green-building features will help ensure the health and well

-being of BVHP residents and new homebuyers.  Sustainability components include:  photovoltaic cells to decrease
